Teachers from each of the schools within the Nassau County School District are eligible to apply for a classroom grants. Schools include: Bryceville Elementary School, Callahan Elementary School, Callahan Intermediate School, Callahan Middle School, Emma Love Hardee Elementary School, Fernandina Beach Middle School, Fernandina Beach High School, Hilliard Elementary School, Hilliard Middle-Senior High School, Southside Elementary School, West Nassau County High School, Wildlight Elementary School, Yulee Primary School, Yulee Middle School, and Yulee High School
Education is vital to the success of our youth and our community. The Nassau Education Foundation has provided grants to all of the schools in Nassau County. These funds allow teachers to include activities, lessons and other enrichment that might not be funded otherwise. Knowing there are additional funds available gives teachers a way to dream of what they might do each year. Awarding these grants is something our board members really enjoy. The teachers, principals and students are so appreciative and the funds go directly to schools for use in every subject area. A little money goes a long way in the classroom!

Each year teachers apply for classroom grants and they can choose any subject area. Grants are awarded based on a scoring rubric and reviewed by a panel of grant readers. The Nassau Education Foundation has funded projects in virtually every subject area including: math, science, history, STEM, Spanish, French, performing arts, robotics, art, music, physical education, reading, Exceptional Student Education, Career and Technical Education, English Language Learners, professional development for teachers and guidance.
Corporate sponsors support the Nassau Education Foundation for various reasons. Some are based in Nassau County and have a vested interest in helping to ensure an educated workforce. A universal motivation for donation and sponsorship is based in the concept that all students deserve the best learning experience possible. The Nassau Education Foundation puts their donations back into all sixteen Nassau County Schools ensuring that students throughout the county benefit from the generosity of all donors.
Yes, they can. The Nassau Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. There is no minimum or maximum dollar amount. Unrestricted donations are accumulated in a general fund and used for classroom grants throughout the county. If you wish for your donation to go to a specific program specify that when you make your donation or contact abean@nassaueducationfoundation.org.
There are several ways you can help us further our mission. We welcome all financial support that allows us to continue to provide classroom grants to the teachers of Nassau County. As a volunteer driven organization, our board and committee members allow us to keep our operational expenses at a minimum, thus maximizing our funding for grants. Our dedicated volunteers come from the community with backgrounds in business, education, philanthropy and human resources. The Nassau Education Foundation is dedicated to providing funds for classroom grants in every school in Nassau County. The foundation funds projects that may not have any funding available. Also, the foundation has been devoted to funding robotics and a variety of career and technical education programs. Finally, we have dedicated funds to help adults earn their GED by defraying some of their expenses. In 2019, the foundation reached a fantastic milestone and funded more than $500,000 in grants since 2015!
